One of the countries leading recruitment companies reports that their quarterly survey results show that the UK labour market is heading in the right direction.
The report is a leading provider of the current trends and conditions in the UK labour market because it gathers data from 10,000 UK companies across 37 industry sectors.
The number of vacancies advertised in the first quarter of 2012 rose by 9% compared with this time last year whilst there was also a 6% rise on the last quarter of 2011. This rise would suggest that the UK economy is well placed to avoid a double dip recession.
The results back up the recent positive comments by the British Chambers of Commerce. Employers in the technical and manufacturing sectors are driving the recovery by taking on more staff than a year ago, but there is also an increase in the number of construction jobs which is always encouraging for a sustained economic recovery.
