Olly Murs pops in to wish his old colleagues a Merry Christmas!

Primes most famous ex-employee Olly Murs called in on to the office to wish his friends and colleagues a Merry Christmas. Olly worked as a Consultant at Prime in our Witham branch for 4 years prior to his successful his x-factor journey.

Although he is now an international pop star and a household name he still enjoys his trips back to Witham. He is photographed here with company MD, Robyn Holmes.

Congratulations to out Technical and Engineering consultant Ben Bridle, and his wife Jackie on the birth of their second child Alexander. Ben and Jackie were not sure if the baby would be a boy or a girl so they were delighted when Alexander weighed in at an impressive 10lb 8oz’s!

We have been running a competition for a bottle of bubbly for the person who could guess closest to the babies weight and we are pleased to announce that the winner is Peter Chalken from e2v in Chelmsford. We will be dropping your bubbly off to you Peter so well done and thanks also to the dozens of others who entered!

We are delighted to welcome the latest addition to our team. Helen Orsborne has recently started at our Sudbury branch where she will head up the Technical and Engineering desk. Helen will also look after any finance related positions. Prior to joining us Helen worked in London for a large international recruitment company but she is very happy to be working more locally again. Her enthusiasm and bubbly personality will make her popular with clients and candidates alike and we all wish her the best of luck in her new role.

We are excited to confirm that Ben Bridle, our Technical and Engineering consultant and his wife Jackie are expecting their second child on November 24th. To celebrate why not enter our competition and guess the newborns weight? The world’s population is expected to hit seven billion in the next few weeks. After growing very slowly for most of human history, the number of people on Earth has more than doubled in the last 50 years. Prime Appointments results do not quite replicate this level of growth but despite the current climate we are heading in the right direction!!

Company MD Robyn Holmes comments; ” The last few weeks uncertainty in Europe’s financial markets have added to business caution but despite this we are continuing to grow and our website is assisting in this growth. 30% of our permanent placements this year have been from applicants who have seen their job advertised on our website rather than the main stream job boards. We have more people visiting our website than ever before and in the next few weeks we will relaunch it with an improved look aimed at ease of use for both client and candidate. Hopefully the good news today about the eurozone will increase business confidence further and encourage everybody to be more positive.”

Prime takes on it’s 5th NVQ apprentice!

Rochelle Scott who is based in our Sudbury branch has become our 5th apprentice to join us hoping to gain the one year NVQ qualification in Business and Administration. Rochelle joins Jamie Aiello from our Witham office who is also training for the same qualification.

Completing an NVQ in Business and Administration helps apprentices to develop the skills they need to work as an administrator. Apprentices are required to demonstrate their organisational, technical, managerial and communications skills.

Prime Appointments Managing Director, Robyn Holmes adds; ” The apprentices are required over a year to show that they have got a particular set of skills and between us and their assessor we aim to improve on those skills and develop new ones. The qualification works really well for the apprentice and for us, and all 3 of the students who have completed the course with us have gone on to secure good jobs through our company.”
