Our client who are an automotive component manufacturer based in Harlow are recruiting for a Warranty Engineer / Customer Services Co-ordinator to join their team. For this role you will ideally have a qualification within electronics i.e HNC/HND or equivalent, have fantastic problem solving skills and be very well organised.

Main purpose:
To record warranty issues and complaints and provide detailed analysis and reports on claims and failures. Provide co-ordination and support for field trials and liaise with customers on issues and complaints. Co-ordinate the Corrective Action activities within the company.

Maintain and monitor a database of warranty information, recording all relevant details of field failures.
Conduct suitable investigations in order to ascertain failure mode and categorizing each warranty failure according to failure mode.
Produce detailed reports on all company warranty claims for analysis within Truck-Lite Europe.
Facilitate the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
Highlight trends in failures and being proactive in ensuring that such information is used within the business to prevent the possibility of recurrence.
Identify and monitor repeated warranty claims on components and/or sub contract components and highlight such trends within regular reports.
Be proactive in liaising with suppliers where required in order to improve component quality.
Implement improvement initiatives throughout the business.
Issue regular reports highlighting the number and nature of complaints received and actions required to produce a successful outcome.
Proactively pursuing actions to a satisfactory conclusion.
Provide professional written (but suitably edited) reports, which may be submitted to customers claiming under their warranty. Reports should be written in such a way as to help maintain and build on customer relations.
Visit both UK based and overseas customers and Truck-Lite manufacturing locations as required in support of warranty investigations.
Provide warranty support to Commercial (warranty cost agreements).
Liaise with Purchasing, develop a process for warranty cost recovery from suppliers based on formal agreements.
Liaise, where appropriate, with sub contractors and suppliers in order that they may provide satisfactory components/reports or solutions to any warranty resulting from failures or deficiencies of components or services of their supply.
liaise with other departments (ie buying or applications) to ensure that failing components, suppliers or sub-contractors are aware of their shortcomings.
investigate appropriate compensation and improvements to the components or service to reduce such warranty claims.
monitor and track cost of warranty against budget. Analysis of cost trends, differentiating between true warranty and customer goodwill warranty.
provide co-ordination and support for all field trials.
provide written communication of results from regular monitoring and feedback to cross functional teams or other relevant departments.
Initiate improvements from trial analysis.

HNC/HND or equivalent in Electronics or a similar discipline
Excellent problem solving skills
Be able to communicate with customers face to face
Have experience with Warranties

Salary – £30,000 to £35,000 per annum
