To co-ordinate the activities of the production workers and to meet production needs throughout the shift.

* to work in conjunction with the Production Management to agree and satisfy production needs

* Analyse and resolve work problems and assist workers in resolving problems

* Work in conjunction with Human Resources to manage performance, absence and timekeeping

* Maintain sufficient levels of labour and skills to meet business needs

* Ensure timely and effective development of operators to meet business demands

* ensure workers adhere to company policy and enforce health & Safety regulations

* Report machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel

* Work with maintenance dept and with production management to ensure that the machines are maintained

* Communicate with supervisory staff in the foundry

* Ensure finished product for customer requirements is in despatch in a timely manner

Supervision of all machine shop production staff

Education/Exp

Excellent attendance and timekeeping

Previous Supervisory exp

Certificate in supervisory management or equiv is advantageous

Reporting to Production Manager, in charge of approx 50 staff on shift.  Hours of work are on a permanent late shift which is 2pm-10.15pm
