Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be a dynamic leader responsible for the strategic and day to day operation of a multi million pound transport operation

To maximise operational efficiency whilst reducing cost, waste and loss.

To improve customer satisfaction through the delivery of excellent customer service.

To improve the speed, efficiency and accuracy of internal operating processes.

To comply with all health and safety policies and procedures to reduce the number of avoidable accidents and exposure to unnecessary risk.

To develop the individual and collective skills, knowledge and motivation of the team.

Contribute to a positive work climate through a flexible attitude to work and support for colleagues and other team members



To maintain and develop UK transportation activities whilst embracing growth and controlling costs.

To carry out Transport and general cost analysis and provide feedback to senior management.

Maintain effective communications within UK sales to develop opportunities and solutions for customers.

Responsibility for a multi million pound budget.

To ensure the Transport Operation complies with all Road Transport and Health and Safety Legislation.

To lead and pro-actively manage the performance of 4 direct reports who are in turn responsible for the operations team





Knowledge of working in a similar role within the haulage or shipping industry at a senior level is essential
