West Mersea Yacht Club, founded in 1899, is renowned for its yacht racing prowess and offers a pleasant environment in their welcoming Clubhouse Bar where the membership, visitors and guests can enjoy the comfortable and traditional facilities that compliment their sailing interest.

 

There is now an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cook/Chef to join one of the leading centres of yachting on the East Coast with a tradition going back into the 19th century.

In the pivotal position of Head Chef you will be innovative in terms of the service offered and will be responsible for all aspects of the catering operation whether it is a function, members dining, bar snacks or race day specials. Working alongside a small yet enthusiastic team, you will be expected to work with the Club Manager to schedule the staff, lead and motivate them. You will also ensure the quality and consistency of the product served, and the manner of service is of a high standard, providing a practical yet exciting menu choice throughout.

 

This opportunity would ideally suit someone who has the personality to provide a professional but approachable and welcoming team-working environment and can contribute fully to ensure the department maintains profit margins and controls expenditure.
