Prime's Memory Walk

What a day! A massive thank you to everyone who came along to our amazing 4 mile Memory Walk, in aid of Alzheimer's Society. We are over the moon to announce that in total, we raised over £1,200! With £719.10 put in by the business, this now takes our current total for Alzheimer’s Society to an incredible £21,006!

It was a wonderful day, with the Prime team, clients, candidates, friends & family all pulling together to put their best foot forward. We could not have done it without the wholehearted support and participation of our close community of clients, candidates, collaborators and friends. This included our clients at Dental Directory who put their walking shoes on to take part and our partners at Tiptree Patisserie who supplied us with a delicious celebratory cake!

News began to spread...

With the word of our Memory Walk’s success getting out in the Dental Directory newsletter, the Braintree & Witham Times and even BBC Essex, we’re excited to be at the centre of what’s snowballing into a powerful community effort to work towards a future without Alzheimer’s.

With the unprecedented passion of business leaders, candidates, employees, friends and family behind us, we’ve now raised £21,006 – more than 4 times our original target! Gearing up for our next event, we’re excited to see the progress we can help Alzheimer’s Society make with the £100k we plan to raise in the next 10 years. Join us on our journey!

Support our cause

To help fight back against Alzheimer’s, we originally set ourselves the target of raising £5,000 before the next World Alzheimer’s Day on 21st September 2019.

For our first event of Elf Day, we aimed to raise £250. So we were completely amazed by the support that snowed in from employees, candidates and clients raising over £6k at our first event alone! So, we decided to up the stakes, aiming to hit £10k by September. Well, what happened next?! Our Golf Day raised over £12k! So we’re going for gold and aiming to hit £100k!

Here’s a little record of our journey so far…

December 7th  Elf Day: £6,500    June 13th – Cupcake Day: £165

June 14th  – Golf Day: £12,650     September 29th - Memory Walk: £1,200

Where it all began...

People sometimes ask us why we chose Alzheimer’s Society. The reason is for Margaret Locke. Our co-founder, one-half of the dynamic power duo without whom none of this would be here, we’re doing this for her. At just 51, Margaret was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and it has been a real tragedy for everyone close to her to watch as this condition has progressed. A vibrant, passionate, fiercely intelligent woman, Margaret’s drive is what has got us here. With her passion for people and her creative vision, she is an amazing individual who we consider ourselves privileged to call not just business partner, but our dear friend. This friendship is the driving force behind our determination to create a world less affected by and, ultimately, free from Alzheimer’s, for Margaret and for millions of others around the world.

Our mission

"As we steadily climb towards our 28th year in business we recognise the importance of supporting our employees, our local community and beyond. As an SME we can not take the same steps as larger corporate giants, but we aim to make the best contribution we can to promoting change and supporting others."

Events so far…

Elf Day!

On the 7th of December, we kicked off our fundraising challenge to hit £5k. Little did we know we would raise over £6K on our first event with our raffle! With clients, candidates and friends all taking part, it was an amazing day.

Cake with a cause!

On 13th of June, we dusted off our whisks and got our rolling pins out for Alzheimer’s Society’s Cupcake Day! As part of our initiative to raise £10k for our chosen Charity of the Year, we went all-out, hosting an in-house company bake-off.

Golf day!

The 14th of June saw our first ever Golf Day! With a round of golf, luxury prizes and one very competitive auction we raised an incredible £12k. Blown over by the generosity of our clients & friends, our first Golf Day certainly won’t be our last!

Memory walk!

On the 29th of September we all put our best feet forward for our Memory Walk. From regular hiking enthusiasts to the not-so-outdoorsy members of our team, we took part to help fund the vital research into beating dementia.

Dress down for a £1!

Look after the pennies and the pounds will keep rolling in! To keep the pennies rolling in, we host a dress-down Friday at the end of every month. Every little donation brings us one step closer to hitting our target which we plan to smash!

Prime Appointments Golf Day

After months of organising Golf Day, our team couldn't be happier with the event’s success. Raising a whopping £12,624 for Alzheimer’s Society & smashing our initial yearly target in one fell swoop, we were over the moon! From golf games to competitions, breakfast, dinner and auctions, all attendees had a thrilling day.

With opportunities to win gifts from the Colchester Golf Club Pro Shop & Magnums of wine... let's just say the putting was on point! However, Golf Day could not have been such a success without the generosity of friends, clients and family. A huge thank you to everyone who supported both the day and our cause!

Stay tuned...

We are excited to announce that we will be heading into the second year of our official partnership with a bang with another massive Elf Day! Our first fundraising event of our original challenge, Elf Day last year was a massive success, raising a whopping £6k! With clients, candidates and friends all taking part, it was an amazing day. This year we’re pulling out all the stops and aiming for bigger and better! Once again, we will be dressing up in full Elf gear to celebrate the festive spirit and get everyone into the mood of giving. We will also be hosting a Christmas themed bake off with not just sweet, but also savoury treats, to make sure everyone has something delicious to snack on. We’re hoping to raise the roof on our fundraising target so get involved today to help us get there! Stay tuned for more updates.
