Electrical Engineer

Do you have a PLC's programming experience and are willing to travel overseas to visit client sites? If so, a specialist manufacturing company lbased in Benfleet are looking to recruit an Electrical Engineer to work within their Projects Office to provide both office-based technical support and on-site services. The company have been established for over 40 years and can offer a friendly and stable working environment.

Duties:

  • Working within the Projects office in a team of 5
  • Provide office based technical support and on-site service to customers worldwide.
  • Provide on-site support and supervision of equipment commissioning at customers' sites worldwide. Provide project engineering support and coordination/management of specified customer projects or orders.
  • Liaise with the electrical design draughtsman to produce control panel design
  • Component order placement and final test.
  • Provide estimates/quotations for sale purposes.
  • Undertaking specified electrical and electronic development and design projects.
  • Using knowledge of PLC's HMI software and SCADA systems to provide in house programming and fault finding.
  • Liaising with model test laboratory, electrical design draughtman, project engineers and electrical workshops in all aspects of the company's electrical/electronic engineering activities.


Candidate requirements:

  • Must have a HNC qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or higher.
  • The Electrical Engineer must have a good knowledge of PLC's, HMI software and SCADA systems, in particular Siemens TIA Portal preferred.
  • An understanding of AutoCAD based software is preferred.
  • Must have a good understanding of single and three phase power transformers.
  • An electrical design background would be an advantage.
  • Must be willing to travel, to provide on-site support and supervision of equipment commissioning at customers' sites worldwide for approximately 20% of the year (variable spells, usually from 1-2 days to 2-3 weeks)
  • Must have a British Passport
