Fulfilment Manager

A rapidly growing firm based on the outskirts of Brentwood, Essex are currently recruiting for a Fulfilment Manager.


This is a permanent role, offering between £50,000 - £65,000 per annum (depending on experience)


Overview of the role:


The main function of this position is to oversee the company's current E-commerce and fulfilment operations ensuring a level of efficacy and profitably is sustained. This role is very much hands on, the Fulfilment Manager will be reviewing the current operations with the intention of providing feedback on warehouse design/layout, pick & pack process, storage of goods, as well as reviewing our warehouse management system.

What does the position entail?

  • Looking after the management of logistics and distribution, working with carriers to make sure that the most competitive rates are being achieved
  • Lead, Plan and execute improvements throughout the warehouse, for example warehouse design, storage layout and picking methods/routes
  • Responsible for financial budgeting, forecasting production demand and setting out Key Performance Indicators for the fulfilment department
  • Involved in implementation of a warehouse management system software
  • Overseeing online orders from order placement to delivery, along with order return
  • Look at various e-commerce strategies
  • Developing and managing of staff within the warehouse
  • Ensure the daily management of the E-Commerce Operative team to maximise customer order picking and assembly on time and in full
  • Working closely with the in-house web development team so that improvements can be made to the warehouse manager and store systems
  • Monitor and review all relevant areas of the Operation


Candidate requirements:

  • Previous experience in review/implementation of warehousing design to ensure that space is being fully optimised
  • 5 years plus background working in E-Commerce and fulfilment is essential
  • Good awareness of supply chain management and operations
  • Fantastic knowledge in managing domestic and international shipping
  • Great communication and numeracy skills
  • Supplier negotiation and relationship management
  • Background of industry best practices such as storing, picking and packing processes
  • Will have previously worked with a high volume of products as this is a fast paced working environment
  • Supply chain or engineering degree qualified
  • Six Sigma/LEAN Certified (beneficial)
