Finance Director

  • £58,000 - £70,000 p/a
  • Harlow, Essex
  • Permanent

A client of ours in the Harlow area are recruiting a Finance Director to join their team. This is a full-time permanent role paying up to £70,000 dependant on experience and working a Monday - Friday 38.75-hour week (2 days working from home/3 in office)

Reporting into the MD, main duties for this Finance Director will include but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day supervision and running of the Finance Department (Team of 6 direct reports)
  • Lead the financial planning and forecasting and partnering
  • Compiling and reporting on data from our subsidiaries and branch companies in USA, EU and Australia
  • Generating monthly group accounts using JOIIN / XERO (including international subsidiaries and branches)
  • Attending strategic and planning meetings with Founders / Senior Management team
  • Developing and improving internal processes to optimise the company's financial performance and eliminate inefficiencies
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Cashflow forecasts
  • Working capital forecasts
  • Asset register maintenance
  • Depreciation schedule
  • Manage year end audit with external auditors and internal team
  • Support with creating a holding company for the business and re-structuring to support future growth plans
  • Ensuring accounts are reconciled in a timely manner, track KPIs and report on variances in performance at end of month
  • Supporting the Sales Director with setting RRPs for new products based on BOM cost and freight considerations
  • Assisting with budget preparation and reporting on variances in the UK and global subsidiaries
  • Ensuring financial and statutory regulations complied with
  • Developing and supporting the finance team, including recruitment and performance management

Key Skills & Attributes needed to be considered for this position:

  • Ability to analyse, interpret and utilise complex information for reporting, forecasting, costing and planning purposes
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including senior management
  • Responsiveness to new concepts, skills and training
  • Confident self-starter with the ability to build effective relationships
  • Excellent communicator, able to work remotely and conduct meaningful meetings
  • Qualified Accountant (eg. ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Significant prior experience working for a multi-national Corporation
  • Prior experience handling group accounts
  • Experience overseeing end-to-end accounting and finance in a hands-on capacity, independently and with management experience of a small team (6 in total)
  • PowerPoint, Excel, Word skills essential
  • Experience in Manufacturing and Production industry
  • Knowledge of JOIIN / XERO
