Our client in the building and construction industry based in Ipswich is looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to deliver mechanical building services designs. You will be required to engage with other disciplines to ensure that fundamental building services principles drive building design and ensuring both the compliance and the quality of installations.
Duties:
Responsible for the design of HVAC systems for both new and existing buildings
Manage the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously
Undertake site visits, surveys and inspections according to standard project procedures
Produce design calculations and schematics using design software
Manage the coordination of specialist design and third party organisations
Supervise junior members of the team and support their development
Manage the delegation of appropriate work to junior members of the team
Ensure that mechanical design consistency approach is maintained across the Building Services team
Produce industry standard tender packages
Skills & Experience:
HND or Degree qualified in an engineering discipline
Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer ideally in a large contractor consultancy capacity
Knowledgeable in relevant Building Regulations and standards for mechanical instillations
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Understanding of current design industry processes and procurement arrangements
