Are you a CIPS qualified Senior Buyer with extensive purchasing experience, is so this could be the opportunity you have been looking for. Working for a leading company in their field the Senior Procurement Buyer will manage all purchasing activities for a group of strategic commodities and suppliers. Candidates will have experience of ensuring that the most cost-effective terms are secured and that suppliers are meeting quality and delivery expectations. In order to be applicable you must be a British Citizen.
Develop detailed and intelligent commodity/category strategies.
Ensure strategies align with the organisation's commercial and technology roadmaps.
Establish relationships and long-term development plans with suppliers.
Be responsible for negotiating appropriate long-term and short-term transactions with vendors
Develop and maintain a supply chain capable of meeting business requirements in terms of cost quality and delivery.
Providing support and advice to other members of Procurement team ensuring best practice.
Develop KPIs to monitor and drive performance improvements.
Build solid working relationship with central purchasing team within a matrix reporting regime.
Skills & Experience:
HNC or equivalent in a business-related subject
CIPS membership or studying for CIPS membership is desirable
Experience within a purchasing role at Senior Buyer level
Demonstrate experience of MRP, kanban, contract law, negotiation and working within a change culture organisation
Demonstrate experience of working within teams
Must have excellent communication skills and a "can do" attitude to solving problems
Possesses drive, initiative and flair to anticipate and take appropriate action to maximise profit
Possesses the desire to recommend and implement change within the supply chain
Must be willing to travel on company business both in the UK and abroad at short notice.
25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
37 hours per week based on flexible hours 7.30 9.00 to 16.00 18.00 Monday to Thursday with 1 hours lunch and 7.30 9.00 to 12.30 16.00 Friday
