A leading family run haulage company are looking to recruit a Traffic Planner to join their team based in the Colchester area. Our client has an excellent reputation for providing first-class service and have been safely transporting good for over 100 years. If you are a Traffic Planner from the haulage or pallet network industries with previous experience managing a fleet of rigid/articulated vehicles, then we want to hear from you!
Duties:
- Routing of vehicles and covering of deliveries across the UK
- Liaising with Traffic office teams and drivers to ensure a first-class service is provided
- Using in-house planning tools and systems
- Keeping the internal tracking system organised and updated
- Controlling and planning of resources
- Plan rigid and articulated work for the following day
- Complete warehouse checks
- Review the manifest and update any amendments
- Provide rate quotes and process customer bookings
- Monitor delivery performance and advise customers of any issues affecting them
Experience required:
- Background in the haulage or pallet network industries
- Must have previous experience of planning for articulated vehicles and multi drop deliveries.
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- A real teamwork ethos and willing to help others
- CPC holder would be advantageous
- Competent in IT
- Must live within a commutable distance of Colchester and have own transport
