Hands up if you’ve vowed never to turn down an invitation to go out again once lockdown has relaxed! It’s safe to say that one of the positive points that has come out of Covid-19 will be our newfound appreciation for the little thing we may have taken for granted before.
Excitingly, with lockdown restrictions continuing to ease, it looks like we could be set to be reunited with some of these simple pleasures in the near future! Here are just a few of the things we’re looking forward to in the coming weeks…
The sun has got his hat on! Temperatures have been climbing steadily over the past weeks in the steady march from spring to summer. At least the most restricted phases of lockdown happened at the colder end of the season. Now, with blue skies re-emerging, we couldn’t be more excited for barbecues, ice lollies and long days making the most of the sunshine.
Fitness fanatics rejoice! The government has officially given the all-clear for unlimited opportunities to exercise outdoors. Whether you’re a runner, a yoga-at-dawn kind or if you just like stretching your legs in a gentle stroll, the green-light to give it your all could not be more welcome.
Ahhh, Vitamin D. It wouldn’t be summer without the chance to lather on the sunblock, grab a bottle of water and park yourself on the grass. If you weren’t a sun-worshipper before Covid-19, we’ll be putting our money on a change of heart this year. With the official advice that we can sit in the park and soak up the rays, we’re expecting everyone to come back to work bronzer than ever.
If you’re familiar with Prime, you’ll know that we’re keen golfers and sponsors of the local Colchester Golf Club. Competition and collaboration are key to success whether it’s on the putting-green or in the board room and we’re thrilled to have the chance to dust our clubs off. For tennis fans, the next coming weeks will also be a chance to reunite with their passions.
Oh we do like to be beside the seaside … what better time to make the most out the outdoors than as the rays are coming out? As temperatures soar and the days get longer, we’re looking forward to the chance to make the most of the chance to head out to the seaside.
If you didn’t have green fingers before lockdown, we’re betting you’ll have seen a change in hue when you hear the news … garden centres are set to reopen! Formerly the province of only the keenest of gardeners, we think there’ll be a newfound appreciation for the simply joy of replenishing your geranium seed supply.
New buyers whose plans were blocked by covid-19 can start browsing at Ikea furniture online again because moving house is back on! New couples taking the leap, young people branching out on their own and anyone else who’s just been itching for a change of scene will be able to get their plans back on track.
If there’s one thing spending so much time at home has brought to our attention it’s the bits and pieces that need a revamp around the house. With DIY shops starting to open, it’s a great chance to use the extra time at home to work on bits and pieces.
In general, we expect to see a gradual uptick in economic activity as businesses slowly reopen and lockdown begins to ease. In an age where the majority of sectors interconnect with each other to some extent, this should be good news for businesses worldwide.
We saved the best until last! If there’s one thing we’ll never take for granted again, it’s the chance to see our loved ones in person. With the public now permitted to meet up with one person from a different household, we couldn’t be more thrilled to share the joy of brighter times ahead together.
